Our mission at The SOW the Seeds Of Wisdom Foundation Inc. is to help underprivileged and

"at risk" individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency.

Through real life experience they develop leadership skills, teamwork and community responsibility. SOW members and participants develop a positive self-image, self esteem and clarify values on which to build and maintain a successful life.  How do we achieve such lofty goals?

We use the five fingers on the right hand of success…                                                                                First we use Vision in thinking about planning for the future with wisdom and patience.

We must create and hold 100% equity in every enterprise, initiative, program and institution we build.

Then we use Creativity for imagination, originality, artistry, inspiration and resourcefulness. Creativity is the catalyst in the process of turning ideas into things that are physically manifested.

Next we use Self-Reliance for responsibility, confidence, diligence and composure in the application and implementation of our most carefully reasoned plans.

We also use Innovation to alter, revolutionize, transform and breakthrough all the old debilitating mental constructs we depend on that hold us back.

New measures, new methods of thinking and living must be developed to realize the full potential of the 21st Century.

Last but not least we call the strongest of them all. We use Love to relish in and savor our loved ones; ourselves and all that we do every second of our lives. Those of us who have the education, wealth and will to action have a responsibility. The responsibility to take charge in this noble battle we call life.

We at The Seeds Of Wisdom Foundation sow the seeds of trees we do not wish or hope to sit in the shade of or partake of it fruit. We cultivate our groves and gardens for the use of those not yet born and their children, so that the future will hold the promises of countless days of abundance, greatness and glory.

African-Americans have had little other than the arts to inform us about the truth of our history and the treasures of our legacy. Our ability to survive the cruelty of centuries of oppression is nourished through the stories we inherited from our gatekeepers. The songs and tales of heroism and dignity handed down to us from our truth tellers guide us in our continuing pursuit of the American Dream.
